Readiness checklist
Prepare records that can support a useful plan.
A short review of business context, source coverage and ownership can make financial setup more deliberate.
1. Confirm the reporting context
- Identify the legal entity and base currency for the planning workspace.
- Confirm fiscal year start, timezone and accounting basis.
- Decide which periods are complete and how period closure is determined.
2. Gather the records you actually maintain
Depending on the planning question, supported imports cover period movements, budgets, balance or trial-balance snapshots, receivables, payables, cash observations, payroll/headcount and operating drivers.
- Use the matching current template and keep each dataset’s period or snapshot meaning clear.
- For staffing, use position references and only the compensation detail needed for planning.
- Do not combine company totals with department details for the same accounts.
3. Check consistency before import
- Use consistent account, department, currency and date values.
- Identify duplicate rows, references and repeated snapshots.
- Reconcile source totals to the relevant reports where possible.
- Distinguish point-in-time balances from monthly operating movements.
- Keep missing entries blank; do not substitute zero unless zero is the source fact.
4. Review before relying on results
Import preview is not an adopted actual or approved budget. Review mapping, source scope, coverage and validation findings before committing. Management owns budget adoption and material assumptions.
Protect sensitive information. Do not send credentials, financial statements, payroll details or bank information in an initial demo email. Arrange an appropriate channel only after onboarding and access have been confirmed.
