Scenario walkthrough
Review the cost and timing of a proposed hire.
A staffing scenario is only useful when its role, start date and cost assumptions are explicit. This walkthrough contains no sample employee or compensation figures.
1. Define the position assumption
Use a position reference, department and the compensation fields needed for planning. The record describes a role, not a fabricated person. Payroll and headcount information is supplied through supported file imports, not a live payroll connection.
2. Set the timing deliberately
Record the planned start date and, if relevant, end date. Select the supported monthly or daily proration convention explicitly; do not assume that every model treats a partial month in the same way. A different start date belongs in a separate scenario assumption rather than silently changing the baseline.
3. Compare the scenario with the baseline
Review the position cost alongside operating revenue, other costs and the current forecast. If a required compensation, date or planning input is missing, resolve it explicitly; do not fill the gap with an invented value.
SCENARIO INPUTS
Position review
4. Keep the decision with management
A scenario estimates how supplied assumptions affect a supported outlook. It does not approve a hire, confirm available cash or replace management judgment. The customer decides whether any assumption should become part of the adopted plan.
Questions before adopting an assumption
- Is the position information current and authorized for this purpose?
- Are compensation fields complete and based on the right schedule?
- Does the start date reflect management’s actual intention?
- Are dependent operating and cash assumptions complete?
- Is this still a scenario, or has management separately adopted a plan revision?
